THE BOOK PROJECT
Liga Medicorum Homœopathica Internationalis
Procedure Document

  1. The Book Project, Liga Medicorum Homœopathica Internationalis, otherwise known as the “Liga Book Project” is a project created by the Liga Medicorum Homœopathica Internationalis to facilitate the distribution of Liga owned books to reference libraries and individual physicians worldwide who could not otherwise afford to buy them.
  2. The Administrative authority of the Liga Book Project shall rest with the LMHI Executive Officers. The Liaison in each country shall be that country’s Natural Vice President or National Representative.
  3. This Project is funded through the proceeds of the 49th Congress of the Liga Medicorum Homœopathica Internationalis and its book source component shall be under the auspices of the office of the National Vice President, LMHI, India.
  4. The selection process for those who shall participate in the Project shall be handled by the Liga Executive Officers. Their decisions shall be final. Those decisions shall be based on information obtained regarding the need of the country in question provided by the respective National Vice President/Representative and/or by direct knowledge of one or more of the Liga Executive Officers.
  5. There shall be two categories of books available in the Liga Book Project: Reference Works and Practical Texts.

    5.1 Reference Works:

    5.1.1 The Encyclopedia of Pure Materia Medica by Timothy F. Allen, A.M., M.D., Twelve volume set.
    5.1.2 The Guiding Symptoms of the Materia Medica by C. Hering, M.D., Ten volume set.
    5.1.3. Dictionary of Practical Materia Medica by John Henry Clarke, M.D., Three Volume set.

    5.2 Practical Texts:

    5.2.1. Organon of Medicine by Samuel Hahnemann
    5.2.2. Lectures on Homœopathic Philosophy by James Tyler Kent, A.M., M.D.
    5.2.3. Expanded Repertory by James Tyler Kent, A.M., M.D.

  6. Each of these works offered in the Liga Book Project shall have the official seal of the Liga Medicorum Homœopathica Internationalis affixed in three places within each volume: inside page front, inside page rear, and in a center page. Additionally, each book shall be stamped with the statement “Liga Book Project: Not for Resale.”
  7. There shall be two phases to the Book Project, Liga Medicorum Homœopathica Internationalis, otherwise known as the Liga Book Project.

    7.1. Phase I: The Reference Works shall go to libraries strategically located around the respective country to facilitate their use by physicians practicing in the surrounding areas, the more difficult is the travel, the greater numbers of such libraries shall be supplied with Reference Works.

    7.2. Phase II: The Practical Texts shall be distributed to individual physicians under the attestation of the signature of that physician and his National Vice President/ Representative. Should he/she cease the practice of homœopathy, he/she must surrender the Text. The National Vice President/Representative is responsible for keeping the Liga informed of the whereabouts of the texts. Moreover, he/she is responsible for transmitting all pertinent records to his/her successor.

  8. There shall be a written contract drawn between the Liga represented by the Executive Officers and the respective recipients

    8.1. The National Vice President/Representative shall recommend the Center and/or individuals to receive the pertinent books.

    8.2. The National Vice President/Representative shall sign the contract between the Liga and the respective country whether the work is to be placed in a library or a physician’s office.

    8.3. The recipient physician shall also sign the contract for any book lent to him for use in his office.

  9. These contracts shall be reviewed every three years at the time of the change of the National Vice President/Representative, which ever comes first.
  10. The contract shall be signed by Prime Vice President of the Liga on behalf of the Executive Officers and of the LMHI.

Expanded Repertory by James Tyler Kent, A.M., M.D.

I shall return the books to the Liga Medicorum Homœopathica Internationalis if I cease to use them or cease to practice homœopathy. I shall maintain complete and accurate records as to the whereabouts of each volume. I shall transmit said records to my successor at the appropriate time.
